PROMOPECHE – EU – 2018-2023
To create decent jobs and consolidate existing employment for young people and potential migrants in the artisanal fishing sector.
The project trains young people to modernise the activity, enables the construction of infrastructure, encourages the creation and strengthening of businesses in the sector, promotes decent work and the improvement of working and fishing conditions.
It is based on the methodologies of learning by doing: one becomes a fisherman by fishing with those who know the sea.

PROMOTING A MODEL FOR SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS AND SOCIAL COHESION IN BASSIKOUNOU MOUGHATAA
USA STATE DEPARTMENT – 2018-2021
To enhance refugees’ self-sufficiency and improve their coexistence with host communities by promoting youth employability and local economic development through labour-intensive construction works.
The programme was launched in September 2018 to develop a new vocational training and insertion strategy for vulnerable populations in host and refugee communities promoting sustainable livelihoods and decent work in rural areas. Mauritania is a pilot country for the United Nations System (UNS) to strengthen the link between humanitarian and development activities. The project responds to the UNS strategy for Malian refugees, to the request of the Mauritanian government and the « Partnership Framework for Sustainable Development 2018-2022 » (CPDD). The project is carried out in close collaboration with UNHCR.
